How can I prevent my computer from detecting headphones as microphones?

 
I have tried several headphones with different connectors, but my computer always treats them as input devices instead of output devices. This causes problems with the sound quality and volume control. I have checked the settings and drivers, but nothing seems to work. Is there a solution for this issue?
